Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Shiver
If you're looking for a book chocked full of action, stunts, twists and turns...Shiver written by Maggie Stiefvater is not the book you're looking for. What Shiver is, is a good, old fashion love story - with a twist...

Grace, is a teenager, who's in love with a pair of yellow eyes. Yellow eyes, that she only sees in winter, yellow eyes that saved her when she was very young from a pack of wolf's, yellow eyes whom she loves, even though there's no rhyme or reason for it. After all, these yellow eyes belong to a wolf, how could Grace be in love with them, feel a pull toward them that she can't deny no matter how hard she tries.

Sam, has yellow eyes...and after Sam is shot, and finds his way to Grace's door, for the first time. Grace starts to understand...She sees those same yellow eyes looking back at her...her wolfs eyes, are Sam's eyes. Sam, is gentle, loving and extremely romantic, just like the wolf, her wolf.

It seems, however, that there love is doomed, when Grace finds out that Sam is fated, to turn back into a wolf, once summer is over and the weather turns cold...

Shiver is breathtakingly written, and captures your heart as well as your imagination, on the first page! The way that the author (Maggie Stiefvater) draws you in...it's not often that you read a book where the use words, can quite literally bring the scents, colors, and feelings alive - as if you were standing right there - feeling, seeing and smelling them all...Maggie Stiefvater does that, I don't know how but she does!

There's a part where the author describes a candy store:

"Peppermint swirled into my nostrils, sharp as glass, then raspberry, almost too sweet, like too-ripe fruit. Apple, crisp and pure, Nuts, buttery, warm, earthy, like Sam. The subtle, mild scent of white chocolate."

In Shiver, I laughed, out loud, I cried like no one was watching (even though they were, sometimes), I felt my heart break with the characters, as well as leap out of my chest. Shiver, is a book that will be with me for quite sometime, a story that did my heart good to read, because even though it's just a book, it reminded me that true love can exist...if Jenn and Aubreyyour willing to look hard enough, if your willing to work hard enough!

We give it...
