I started following Morgan after some amazing Fan Fiction she wrote about the beloved series "Twilight" - if her fan fiction is any indication of what this book is gonna be like, it's going to rock my socks off! I have already read the first chapter, and, lets just say I cant WAIT for more!
So, on to the interview....
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I'm a stay-at-home mother of four, which means I'm a chef, maid, chauffeur, nurse, laundress, etc.. I do the books for my husband's company, which means I'm also an accountant. I love to laugh, and hope you will laugh A LOT as you read a couple of scenes that are quite funny.
I know what you mean there, as a single mom of two, I can understand what it means to "do it all." I can't believe you can manage all that, and write!
What is your favorite book?
Would you believe that I never considered myself much of a reader? When a lady in my neighborhood handed me 'Twilight', I almost told her no. Boy, am I glad I didn't. I loved Twilight and have loved hundreds of books since. I don't know if I could say I have one favorite. My favorite genres are historical or paranormal romance. Movie? Give me something that will make Dr. Pepper come out my nose when I laugh, and that's my favorite! Band? My iPod is jam-packed full of almost every genre out there. My music choice changes with my mood--or the scene I'm writing at the moment.
You sound like me, I have so many different song's on my IPod, people think I am nuts, from Alternative to Classical! (I just saw on your facebook page you like Linkin Park they are one of my favorites.) I also see that you recommend The Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward - I have those books in my "To Be Read" pile, maybe I should move them up in the stack!
What brought you to want to write fan fiction?
Honestly, at the end of Eclipse, I cried for three days. I am a Jacob girl and my heart broke for him. Fanfiction was my way of 'fixing' him until the fabulous Ms. Meyer could do so. What made you want to stop? It got to the point where I had characters of my own itching to get out. With four kids clamoring for my time, something had to give and fanfiction seems to be one of those things.
What inspired you to write Fade To Black?
I started writing it as more of an experimental thing than anything. As the story progressed, and people enjoyed it, I realized that maybe it would be successful as a novel. Can you tell us what Fade To Black is about?
It is a tempestuous and witty love story, complete with dangerous twists and turns that keep the reader guessing until the very last page. Kate Callahan is a news reporter in Salt Lake City whose life seems to be perfect. Her attentive boyfriend, Jesse Vasquez, is determined to prove his love for her. But the day she steps through the doors of KHB as their newest reporter and meets photographer Rich Spencer, everything changes. There is something about the way he caresses her with his eyes, speaks to her without saying a word, and lights her skin aflame with a simple touch that makes her rethink everything she's ever known. Ultimately, she is faced with an impossible choice-one that tears her heart in two-which becomes excruciating when fate steps in and decides for her. Walking along a mountain of heartache and regret, Kate struggles to find a world where love does conquer all.
Is Fade to Black a stand alone novel or will there be other's in the series?
Fade to Black is a stand-lone novel. All questions are answered. (At least I hope so...) You'll have to let me know ;)
We sure will!
Are you currently working on anything? Inquiring minds want to know!
I AM currently working on other projects. I've nearly finished the first book in a vampire trilogy. I've also got a couple other ideas for novels as well as a children's book floating around in my head.
EAK Vampire's by Morgan Kearns, that will be one I want to read!
Anything else that you might want your fans to know about what's going on in your life, upcoming events or novels to look forward to?
My fans? Wow! Do you know how humbling it is to think that I have fans? *blushes* --This adventure is self-published, which means self-financed. The only way I can publish more novels is by selling this one. Therefore, I would ask anyone who reads Fade to Black...if you enjoy it, please tell a friend.
Oh Morgan you can be sure that we will be telling lots of friends about Fade To Black! You can order your own copy of Fade To Black on Amazon as well as Morgan's website!
