This week we are lucky to have Lisa from A Life Bound By Books...I am so excited since she's a member of The Book Addict's Getaway as well as a fellow blogger! (She's supper cool, we have talked a few times and...yep she's just cool, you should check out her blog!)
Anyone on to the interview....
What is your blog about: Books, Books and, yeah... more Books! It's all about reading, posting reviews of books, contests and author interview. I'm still kind of new to the whole book blogging thing, but am working harder and harder at it. Or trying to at least.
Interesting things about your blog we might not know: Maybe that when I started this blog I had just found goodreads.com and fell in love with that. My love for books has pretty much always been there but just over the last few years I've started reading more and more. My collection just keeps growing with each week. Soon after I found Goodreads and started adding books to my shelves there and writing reviews I found a couple people who had and where working on their own book review blogs. I've had blogs in the past for various things, mainly just real life stuff and thought that this might be something I'd love to try. I mean reading and blogging almost seems like a natural thing. I know I usually have so much to say after reading a book... good or bad and this gives me and everyone else who has a book blog the perfect chance to do so. It's a great outlet that brings so much fun, not to mention all the great people out there all together. I'm not sure if this is something you might not know... but I think my blog at it's current state is pretty up front and isn't holding any secrets... well maybe not yet. lol I'm still really new at all this.
What, if any, influence has music had on your blog: I’d say that the closest thing music has influenced my blog is that I often have some music on in the background while working on it. I try really hard to keep my blog all about books and what their influence has on me and try to convey that through the blog. I’m one of those people that find it hard to listen to most music while reading, and when I do have something on while reading it’s faint in the background and mostly classical or instrumental. Otherwise the music would take over and I’d not be able focus on the book.
What about on your life: Wow, this is a HUGE question. I found music early on. My taste in music changed pretty drastically in my early teens and I soon found out I loved going to concerts. I’ve seen some (many) great shows and have some amazing memories. Not only of the music, but the people I’ve met because of the concerts or even the people I knew at that amazing and crazy point in my life. During that time music was everything to me. It was such a part of me that I didn’t go anywhere without music. I lived, breathed, everything for music. I still love music and I when I think back to all I’ve see and done because of it, I can't help but remember all the great memories and stories that come rushing back to me. Music might not be as huge to me as it was not to long ago, it’s not all consuming like it was then, but it'll forever be a part of my life.
How often do you listen to music during your average day: I usually have something on in the background everyday. As I mentioned above, I tend to listen to something a bit lighter while reading. When I’m working around the house I’ll listen to pretty much anything on my ipod which most of the time has music from alternative to rock, to soundtracks to audio books to scores… to rap. I think there’s even one country song on there lol.
What, if you created a song, would the title be? Would it be an instrumental or have words? I think it would be an instrumental. Not sure why I’d think that… and guh, what would the title be? Not a single clue! I’ve never even thought of this. Actually, I think I’d have to say even if it would be an instrumental or not would change depending from one day to the next. That’s the great thing about music. It changes with your moods. There’s something out there for any time of day, mood or person. I think I’d have to have a full soundtrack just like a movie would. To be sure to have just the right song or music for each different moment that might pop up from one day to the next.
What's your favorite song, right now? (if your like me it changes weekly LOL) My favorite songs do change from moment to moment… however some do stay with me. I can tell you that I’ve added a couple to my ever growing favorite song list. Here’s a few of my favorites and a peek at some that are on my ipod:
I am going to try to find them and each link will take you to YouTube so you can listen!

And Various songs By: The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Pink Spiders, Raconteurs, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars, Shiny Toy Guns, Beastie Boys, Gomez, Franz Ferdinand, The Cure… Oldies by goodies L7, White Zombie, Ben Folds Five, various soundtracks… I could go on and on and on and on…. So many cd’s and mp3’s I could list. These just happen to have made it (among others) onto my ipod right now.
Anything else you might like to add? I think that each of us can connect one way or another via music. That’s one of the many great things about it. So many of my memories can be triggered by a song that I can be brought right back to a time or place… music is amazing no matter what you like to listen to. I know I’m looking forward to the next new song or artist I hear.
