You Are So Undead To Me by Stacey Jay – Review

Synopsis via goodreads:
Q: HOW MANY ZOMBIES DOES IT TAKE TO RUIN A SOCIAL LIFE?
A: NOT MANY.

Megan Berry is a Zombie Settler by birth, which means she's part-time shrink to a whole bunch of semi-dead people with killer issues. All Megan really wants is to go to homecoming, but when you're trailed by a bunch of slobbering corpses whenever you leave the house, it's kinda hard to score a date. Let's just say Megan's love life could use some major resuscitation.

Megan's convinced her life can't get any worse - until someone in school starts using black magic to turn average, angsty Undead into scary, hardcore flesh-eating Zombies. Now it's up to Megan to stop the Zombie apocalypse. Her life - and more importantly, the homecoming dance - depends on it.

Have you ever seen Ghost Whisper? This book reminds me a TINY bit of that show – I mean, Megan is a “Zombie Whisper” IE Zombie Settler - it's her “job” to put Zombies back into the ground, after they have let Megan know what it is they have left unresolved in there lives. However, after an incident leaves Megan with out her powers, she's begun to live a normal life. No longer even thinking about Zombies, that is until a few weeks before her 16th birthday when a Zombie shows up at her first door, just minutes before her first date with a popular senior boy!

Megan, never asked for all this “settler” stuff – she just wants to go out, get a boy friend, go to homecoming and be normal...but when Megan realizes that someone is using dark magic, and it looks like it's on her, she does not have a chance, but to try to embrace her settler side in order to survive.

Who could be after Megan, and why on earth does it look like this person's only mission is to prevent her from going to homecoming?

This book is TOTALLY cute, I mean after the books I have read lately this was EXACTLY what I needed, a bit of total fun, and a bit of fluff! It's not a heavy book, I laughed out loud, and rooted Megan on...never once suspecting who would be the one after Megan (well maybe once, toward where we find out who it really is). Stacy Jay did an amazing job with the mystery, I as like WHO could it be, and why exactly could Megan going to homecoming be so darn important! Stacy Jay, does an excellent job of explaining it as well! I never once felt like, I feel occasionally where the “ending” is almost a let down after the wonderful book. (Do you know what I mean?)

Megan is a totally likable girl, she's so into boy's and friends – but there's so much more to her...and I LOVED that she was not totally perfect, she has her flaws! She's so strong though, and in her own way graceful. I also really enjoyed Ethan, and the way Megan and Ethan interacted left me feeling those same “girlhood” butterflies, I miss those. There relationship and banter left me smiling!

I am so excited for a sequel, though this novel left me feeling complete, it will be awesome to see Megan again and Ethan, I can't wait to see where life takes them, hopefully together!

I read You Are So Undead To Me in a few hours, staying up till around 2:30 AM to finish it, I just had to know what would happen, who would be “the one” doing all the weird things, and why exactly! It's one of those books, I found hard to put down, I just did not want to, I wanted to keep myself in Megan's world...Zombie settlers, can have a good life, even if the Zombies do ruin your chances for a date to Homecoming, or do they?

Bottom Line – I will be reading more from Stacy Jay in the future, I just loved her originality! This book is a light read, with totally fun characters! I am really looking forward to Undead Much, it can't come soon enough for me! A 5 Star read for me!
