Far From You by Lisa Schroeder - Review

Far From You is the 3rd Lisa Schroeder book I have read, it's ironic that the last one I read is the first one she wrote as well as the first one I am reviewing here (I Heart You, You Haunt Me and Chasing Brooklyn reviews to come soon!). For me, it does not matter in what order you read them, only that you do....

Synopsis via goodreads:
Lost and alone...down the rabbit hole

Years have passed since Alice lost her mother to cancer, but time hasn't quite healed the wound. Alice copes the best she can, by writing her music, losing herself in the love of her boyfriend, and distancing herself from her father and his new wife.

But when a deadly snowstorm traps Alice with her stepmother and newborn half-sister, she'll face issues she's been avoiding for too long. As Alice looks to the heavens for guidance, she discovers something wonderful.

Perhaps she's not so alone after all...
Lisa Schroeder's books take you on a journey, and this one was no different. I read Far From you in the span of about 2 hours and I was transported to a place, on a journey that I will never forget.

Lisa creates characters so honest and heart felt, with a setting thats so real, then add in beautiful details which are sprinkled though out – and what you come away with is a novel, in verse, that you can not (at least I could not), put down.

Lisa has a talent, like not to many author's out there do, she can creates beautiful novel, and places with in it, a strong meaningful message...but you get so lost with in the story that you nearly forget about the message, until the finial word is read.

In addition, to the beautiful prose, so strong, so beautiful. She tells an elegant story with such grace. Far From You, is a sad book, I had tears though out most of it, it's a powerful novel, it's a moving read.

If you have not had a chance to read Lisa Schroeder your missing out, you might think that with a verse novel, that details will be missed, that part of the story would be missing – but nothing, could be further from the truth, honestly.

The way that Lisa pulls her stories together, it's like magic...a beautiful kind of magic that everyday people might miss out on if not for a story like this one...

This novel is a gift, a gift from a very talented author – a gift she has taken the time to put down on paper and I am humbled to have just finished it. Lisa Schroeder has earned her place with in my heart...I will be watching to see what comes next from her, I can't wait to read more of her work.

Bottom Line – All I can say is Lisa never stop writing...your elegant prose, your amazing characters, and your hauntingly magical stories. They mean something to me and touch a place within my heart. Far From You is nothing short of breathtaking! I give Far From You 5++ Mushrooms, and I can't wait for Lisa to publish again!
