If you would like to be apart of Music Monday please email me, or visit our Music Monday page for more information. This week we are lucky to have Boof (not my real name, obviously!)who blogs over at The Book Whisperer! Thank you Boof for joining us!
What is your blog about:
Books, books and more books. I am a huge bookaholic and devour most genres - I read anything from YA to the classics, from histroical fiction to science fiction and mysteries to travelogues. Something for everyone!
Interesting things about your blog we might not know:
I would rather blog about books than do my real job! Seriously though I just love updating my blog - I am passionate about book and love to share my passion with other like-minded people.
What, if any, influence has music had on your blog:
I'm not sure if music has had any particular influence on my blog but I did listen to a lot of Christmas songs while I was putting it together. Christmas music always makes me happy and excited and maybe that comes across in my blog as I really enjoyed doing it. I love all the old stuff from Wizzard through to Wham! and I am a huge fan of Christmas carols when sung by a choir too. Lovely.
What about on your life:
I love really atmospheric music like Deep Forrest and Enigma and Era. I am quite a pensive person; I can spend a lot of time deep in thought, mulling things over and I dream a lot too and I find this sort of music has a real dream-like quality to it. I used to play the piano until the age of 16 (I gave up to concentrate on my exams and still curse myself that I didn't pick it up again - I was quite good!) so practicing every day when I was a child will have had a huge influence on my life.
How often do you listen to music during your average day:
If I am out and about in the car for work I always have a CD or the radio on. If I love a particuar song I can replay it up to 20 times over without listening to anything else. Some music has such a powerful effect on my emotions that I just want to play it over and over. Also, I am really good at pinpointing the years of songs that were out decade ago as I associate them with times in my life. I can yell "1986!" at the radio as soon as a song comes on because I know which point in my life I was at.
What is the one song that, if your life was a song would define you:
Oh man, this is really difficult! My husband says "I Am The One and Only" by Chesney Hawkes (I'm going to take that as a compliment, not an insult, I think - LOL). However I think I am going to go with "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen. Life is for living!
What's your favorite song ever:
Just one? Oh my, this is SO hard. It really can change on a whim and has done many times over the years but if I was only allowed to pick one then right now it would be Black by Pearl Jam. When I spent 2 years travelling in the early-mid 90's I spent a few months working in a rock & indie bar in Cyprus and I fell in love with this song then as it was played constantly. It reminds me of such a happy time, yet it's really atmospheric (as you know I like).
Anything else you might like to add:
Yes, I reserve the rght to change my mind about song choices on a whim (the same as I do with book genres) as I'm fickle like that! ;o)
Thank you so much Boof for being with us today! That was fun!
