Remember the other day, I did a meme of sorts about my reading habits? There was a question about my recommendations, and well I kinda chickened out and answered very diplomatically...well, I had a few of you email me asking what would be my top 5-10 so here they are...
1. The Light of Asteria: Kailmeyra's Last Hope by Elizabeth Isaacs (if your my friend on Goodreads you got a recommendation for this one from me last night, which I normally do not do – it's an amazing read I will recommend until I am blue) – Review to Come
2. Seers of Light by Jennifer DeLucy
3. The Pace by Shelena Shorts (whom I am meeting today)
4. Angel Star by Jennifer Murgia (whom I am also meeting today)
5. The Soterians Series by Jacquelyn Wheeler
6. Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer
Don't get me wrong these are not the only books I have read and loved, I love so many more than this - but these are the one's if asked, that touched my heart and soul in some way that I came away someone different when I was finished. That's what makes them my top!
Now, on to some about me, I saw this over at My Overstuffed Bookshelf and it looked like fun, so before I head to the Book Festival....
1. Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
Closed or part way open, my hamper is in there, so if I remember I close them!
2. Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotels?
Ok, are we not supposed to? I thought they were were so we would?
3. Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
The bottom is always tucked in, the rest are everywhere – last night I slept with a book because I wanted the connection with it to linger – is that weird?
4. Would you rather be attacked by a bear or a swarm of bees?
A bear, I have a HUGE HUGE fear of Bee's due to something that happened to me as a child...
5. Do you have freckles?
Yes, many, many, many – and there EVERYWHERE!
6. What is your biggest pet peeve?
When someone is not totally truthful with themselves, I am guilty of this often as well...
7. Have you ever peed in the woods?
Yes, I love the outdoors, LOVE camping, and would live out there if I could everyday of my life.
8. Do you ever dance if there’s no music playing?
In the rain, yes, I try to remember to stop, and dance in the rain!
9. Do you chew your pens and pencils?
No...never – yucky!
10. Is it okay for guys to wear pink?
Of course...my wise for men is that they stop trying to always be so masculine, not that I dont love a “real man” but I am sick of them trying to be something they are not because it's what they are supposed to do.
11. What do you dip a chicken nugget in?
A bit of salt, is that weird? Cept on Chick Fila nuggets then nothing – they are awesome already!
12. What is your favorite food?
Honestly, Chick Fila chicken, I crave it like I crave air....for some reason!
13. What movies could you watch over and over and still love?
Twilight, New Moon, Avatar, Something Like Mary (I am sure there are others, but honestly the TV stays off in my life mostly)
14. Were you ever a boy/girl scout?
No
15. Would you ever strip or pose nude in a magazine?
Um, no thanks!
16. Can you change the oil on a car?
No, I thankfully have a father that's very handy!
17. Ever gotten a speeding ticket?
Yes, more than one – especially when I was younger...I have also flipped a car, thankfully we were all fine!
18. Ever ran out of gas?
No, thankfully but alas, I have come close and have had a blown out tire which was scary with 2 kids in the car!
19. Are you lazy?
Yes...I am sad to say but I am.
20. When you were a kid, what did you dress up as for Halloween?
Every year until I was like in Junior High, it was “the thing to do” and it was fun!
21. How many languages can you speak?
I am semi ok at sign language, can count in Spanish and my daughter knows German and she tries to teach me, sometimes
22. Who is better…Leno or Letterman?
UM, neither – I don't watch much TV, there's like 5-6 things total that are good enough to take my attention and this is NOT one of them.
23. Do you sing in the car?
Yes, I LOVE and am quiet passionate about music!
24. Ever eat a pierogi?
Nope, I am not that adventurous about food.
25. First concert?
Will you laugh at me? Bon Jovi back when I was in high school, it was an amazing and euphoric experience that I hope to have again...I don't go to many concerts, now I get that feeling from the books I read, sometimes – when there good enough, like those at the top of this post!

ReplyDeleteFun questions! Greta post and thanks for the recommends!
ReplyDeleteFun meme! Thanks for telling us more about yourself.
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling us more about youtself! I always sleep with books, well, normally I just fall asleep reading them:D
ReplyDeleteI love dancing in the rain, too! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your answers! I wonder how many of us book lovers are also rain lovers...I bet it's a pretty high number. There's almost nothing I love more than curling up with a book when it's raining. And when I was in high school, a guy I used to know would call me ever year on the first rainy day of the season and we'd go walk in it. Hmm, maybe I should use that in one of my books... :)
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that you're lazy...your blog is proof of that!
I think your my long lost twin! Dancing in the rain is awesome. Bees are the scariest thing in the world. I would rather go up against a black widow spider then bees. Chick Fil A is the best! I crave it all the time. To bad I now live in Canada and theres not one around. :( TV sucks. Well maybe not True Blood and Survivor. This was a great post! I loved learning about you!!
ReplyDeleteHad a lot of fun reading your answers! You dance in the rain? I'd love to see that ;)
