My Mini Challenge....

I thought, I might as well join in my own fun and show you my own answer to the Read-A-Thon mini challenge I posted earlier (if you have not seen it yet, don't forget to drop by).

So...

My favorite book is...
The Light of Asteria: Kailmeyra's Last Hope (my review if you have not seen it).

Now, I must tell you that, I did not think about how hard this challenge might be, when I came up with it...but gosh it IS VERY hard...

The image that The Light of Asteria brings to my head, is honestly like nothing I have found, no image captures the essence of what, The Light of Asteria means to me...but, this is as close as I can come...

The song is almost easier...but to understand you must read the book...

Now, my favorite character, probably would be Gavin from The Light of Asteria, but I wanted to do something different so for this one, I am going to do....Christian from the book Seers of Light...

Here's my Christian...
It's Matthew Goode, and while the hair might be a bit off, everything else is perfect!

For a song, that's harder....but, I think this fits, not perfectly but still...it's Love Song Requiem by Trading Yesterday....

  1. I'm reading The Light of Asteria right now! I'm loving it. It is so beautifully descriptive and I can feel an emotional connection to each character and I'm loving the story. Hopefully the ending is satisfying. I'm more than half-way through, just barely. However there will be a book 2 and I love book series, so long as each book is amazing and the ending of endings is satisfying.

  3. From the image and the songs, Light of Asteria sounds like a beautiful and touching book. I absolutely love the song by Trading Yesterday. I'd never heard of them before.

  5. Thank you so much, Jenn. I appreciate you so much! I love Gavin too, but it's hard trying to find someone to represent him. If you find someone, let me know!

I just started reading Light of Asteria and am already mesmerized by the depth, breadth and emotional quality of the writing! It sucks you in immediately and doesn't let you go! And don't get me started on the heat between Nora and Gavin! *fans self* This should be on the NYT bestseller list if a book ever made it there!

  7. I just finished The Light of Asteria. I could not put it down! The best word I can find to describe the experience is: Wow... The beauty of Elizabeth's story is unlike anything I have ever read. She has an incredible knack for putting the reader *in* Nora's shoes. You see what she sees--but more powerful, you feel what Nora is feeling. Her love, devotion, and heartache become a part of who you are. I can truly say I have never experienced a story like Elizabeth's before. The plot is original and the characters realistic. This is one of my all time favorite stories! Eagerly awaiting Book 2 of the series!

  8. Jenn, thank you for including Seers in your picks! I LOVE your selection for Christian, and the song is heart breaking. And how awesome is it that you chose Christian instead of William? Shows you have a compassionate heart.

    Love ya,
    Jen

  9. Thanks, Jenn. I haven't heard of The Light of Asteria until I read your blog. I am putting this on my TBR list. I love The image and Purple is my favorite color. My husband gave me a purple grapes necklace 36 years ago. He passed away nine years ago. Over the years, we had looked for earrngs to match, but no luck. Then Christmas last year, I found the perfect earrings to match the necklace, then on Mother's Day weekend I found a ring that also matched. Awesome as if someone was still looking out for me.
