Synopsis via goodreads:Beautiful...
'My body was being torn apart, and my stomach felt as if it exploded. The pain was excruciating, and I was aware that I was dying... 'Mom?' My vision was murky, but I could see her face. It was bloody, and her eyes were large and full of fear. Her voice calmed. 'Get out of the car, Attie.' Her words sounded crisp and clear. I looked into the backseat in search of Melody and found her lying covered in blood in a twisted heap on the floor. I turned my attention back to my mother and out of the corner of my eye saw fire. 'Get out, Attie!' 'Mom?' Everything went dark.' Attie Reed should have died in the wreck that stole the lives of her mother and best friend. But her life was spared. Why? When Attie moves to Oklahoma to stay with the Bennetts for the summer, she hopes she has left her nightmares behind. But her battle is far from over, and Riley Bennett steps forward to help her fight the nighttime monsters. As the battle wears on, Riley begins fighting monsters of his own: his feelings for Attie. And Attie realizes she must begin to face the monsters of the night herself if she wants to conquer them for good. Can Attie's life be Salvaged?
Magical...
Powerful...
Amazing...
A true, unyielding gift...
I wish I had such an intimate relationship with our Lord...Attie's relationship with our Lord is inspiring, beautiful and poignant...I laughed with her, cried with her and in the end, I wanted to be her...no matter the hardships she's been though, no matter the pain – her ability to speak with God, talk to him like a friend, and in the end her ability to learn to live with what she's been though, was amazing.
It was like I opened a window to the world that is Attie, was graced by her presence, and loved by her spirit.
Salvaged, is a powerful story of Love, Pain and Hope - all wrapped up in a beautiful story....
It's a must read! - My only complaint, is selfish, I had wished Attie learned how to forgive herself for the mistakes she made, and for the mistakes she “thought” she made...because I struggle with this daily, and I would loved to have seen how she got though that particular hurdle!
Bottom Line - I opened this book and found, instead of a story, a life, a gift. Thank you Stefne Miller, for this beautiful work of art, for your understanding spirit.
All this being said, I give this a 5 mushrooms, it's powerful beyond belief...I wish I could become someone with so much power, and someone whom believes so fully, not only in the Lord but also in herself! This book rocked me to the very core!
