I don't have many memories of my grandparents because I've only met them a couple of times in my life. :( They are still alive, but they live far away. (My mom's parents live in Mexico & my dad's mother lives all the way in New York. There's also the language barrier.) What I remember, though, when I visited my grandparents in Mexico & in New York were the moments when other relatives would come over. And there was a lot of them. I have so many aunts, uncles, and cousins. I remember how LOUD it always got because of all the conversations happening at once & all the kids running around! hehe It's something I'm not use to, but I always found it interesting. Hope to experience it again soon. :)

What I remember the most... I think it's when I was about five or six years old (before school), I visited my granmom and -pa at our capital city. I loved one shop which was... 15-minute-ride on bus away, so... I begged my grandmom to go to the shop but she didn't want to.

The next thing I know, I'm on the bus number 10 - which I knew will take me there - and I'm looking down at my aghast grandma, the doors closing in front of me.

Then I went to this shop I liked, found nothing interesting, got back and found my grandmother at home having a... near heart-attack. :D

Now I wonder how the hell I managed to do this without getting lost or anything... I come from a small town, I was young... :D

But well, grandma forgave me. :D

Dont get me wrong, i loved the book, but i totally agree with the review. When i finished the book i was left thinking 'are there pages missing or something??' It ended where it should not have ended. But they should write a sequel atleast-the book needs it-
Overall i am a little pissed, because my friend told me it was the best book she had read, so i bought it and spent $20, $20 that i now want back.
Although, it was enjoyable to read.

One of my fondest memories of my grandparents is from when I was a lot younger. The own a vinyard and winery and I got to stomp the grapes. It was so much fun. Something I'll never forget.

I came here from Blkosiner's blog. I'd never heard of this novel before, but between the two of you, you've made it sound fantastic!

Now, for my memory!

I used to visit my mom's mother every other weekend growing up. It was always on a Sunday after church, so my grandma would cook for us and we'd have so much fun. Every Christmas, all of the cousins would come from PA, NY, and TX, and we'd all be together at her house for this one day.

Most recently, I went to visit my dad's parents this past February. They're retired and living in Arizona now. They're my only surviving grandparents and starting to ail. I haven't seen them in a couple of years and enjoyed every minute we spent together. We didn't do a lot of traveling or anything fancy, just spent a lot of time together, from mundane every day activities such as going to Wal-Mart to taking the dogs to the dog park. I really enjoyed just being with them and memorizing their...essence. I hope to go out again next year!

Well I was raised by my grandparents so I have lots of good memories of them. I think one of the things I loved the most is that my grandma would take me to the library every summer and make me read 1 biography every visit plus any books I wanted. I would always pick someone random to annoy her!
